Exhale

Breathing is the first and the last movement we make. We breathe about 10000 liters of air today. Without breath, no life.

A fascination for movements we all share and often take for granted is the starting point for EXHALE, which lies at the intersection of installation, concert and dance.

The performance begins with three performers walking across a gray fabric as it slowly fills with air. Finally, the performers disappear into the folds of what eventually becomes a 12 x 18 meter inflatable bubble, and the audience is invited inside.

With scientific prose, exhaling as dance, cutting edge electronic music and text fragments that remind us of the origin and existence of life, performers and visitors become one and the invisible air is shared as a physical and tangible medium.  The shape of the bubble is constantly changing, which means that the audience also has to move with the opportunity for new perspectives and reflection. And how is my own breath? How many out-breaths do I have left?
