Tirsdagsdanserne / The Tuesdays dancers

When I moved back to Tromsø after more than twenty years in Europe I was asked to teach. A little reluctantly I accepted, as I was more interested creating work myself, than to teach. But as the years passed and I continued to lead this diverse, inspired and insistent group, a deeper understanding of movement and dance as an unique art form, available for every-body, emerged.

We are not used to seeing adults touching, being close to, or moving together without words - just for the sake of it. This is special, and these people are, in my eyes, immensely courages. Over and over again they go on the floor, without any other plan than listening inward and outward at the same time, harvesting whatever needs to be revealed, from one moment to the next.

This group, and the methodology that slowly has grown over time, have gradually become one of the most important baselines in my artistic research and practice.
